Han Jisung : The ACE of K-Pop!

Han Jisung is a member of the k-pop group Stray Kids from JYP Entertainment and goes by the stage name Han. But I actually call him by his first name most of the time lol, which is Jisung.

Jisung is a rapper, producer, singer, song writer, and he is also a great dancer! He is part of the three member producing team for Stray Kids, called 3racha.

He is often called an ace (or all-rounder) because he can do everything, including rapping, singing and dancing, just to name a few!

He was born on September 14, 2000 in South Korea but also lived and went to school in Malaysia. He trained to become an idol for three years.

The songs he writes are incredibly moving, emotional, impactful, beautiful, and powerful at the same time!

He writes and produces Stray Kids songs but also makes solo songs for himself and solo songs for other members.

I will now introduce and recommend just a few of his amazing songs that I think everyone should hear ~

His song titled Volcano, was released on February 12, 2023. This song is one of my favorite songs by him, if not my favorite lol. It talks about having a relationship with someone and needing that person more than anything in the world. That person is his everything; essential in his life.

It talks about him wanting to be with this person even if they might not be the best for him. He is telling them that they can do anything to him and he will always choose them, no matter what. He will be there for that person no matter what happens, supporting them.

A few lyrics include “I’ll protect you, it’s okay to hurt, I’ll embrace the wounds you shed… To me, you’re already a sin, I can’t refuse because you’re sweeter than evil… You can burst into flames, you can wound me next to you… if you like, I can be anything… Yeah you can hurt me, I don’t care… Hug my body, even if it hurts it’s okay…”

Alien is a song that was released on January 29, 2021. This is a very meaningful song to him and to his fans. I personally can relate a lot to this song in particular because it talks about literally feeling like an alien on earth and struggling with your mental health.

It talks about feeling isolated and lonely. Also about not fitting in and feeling different than everyone else around you. About having so many people around but feeling alone. It also talks about dealing with depression.

The beginning of the song includes the lyrics, “Falling down, I’m an alien on this earth… I don’t seem to belong anywhere by myself… No matter how much I smile, I feel so lonely… Like aliens trying to blend in with Earthlings… No one can hear me when I try and say something.”

These lyrics were especially powerful for me because to me it is again talking about feeling isolated. It also seems to be saying that he keeps smiling and pretending to be okay but it does not help how he feels inside.

As the song progresses he says, “With a vow, I promise I won’t fall over… There are countless dreams in the sky… Because you’ve welcomed me, don’t care about depression too… Yeah, but I’m going to have to live.”

To me, he is saying that he has to keep going, he has to keep living. It seems he has also found people that understand and accept him for who he is.

It then goes on to say “As time went by, I became an adult… And even though I’m not perfect, I’m proud of myself.” I think he is saying that even though he has flaws, he has accepted himself for who he is.

This song is so beautiful and I think a lot of people, including myself, can relate to what he is saying. I would definitely recommend listening to this song below ~

The song Human was released on September 13, 2024. This song is very special because I personally think it is a message to his fans. He is thanking them for always being there for him no matter what.

I think he could also be talking to the people around him, such as his family, members, or friends and thanking them for being there for him as well. Jisung went through a difficult time and has spoken about it in Stray Kids’ content. This song was released after he came out of that dark time and when he felt that he was his true self again.

A few lyrics include, “You never let me fall down, I know… Grateful that you are the big wall that I can lean on in this world… Cause I’m only human… Even with my head hung low, I must go on… Can’t hold on without you, I’m human after all… Outside the spotlight, I’m only human after all.”

This song is very moving and I would highly recommend listening to it below ~

Hold my hand is a song that was released on December 20, 2024. The music video for this song is so much fun! I love it lol!

A few lyrics from the song are, “Every time I see you cry, I felt like drowning in the dark… You said it’s fine but no I’m not… Cause all I want is you, not your tears… Until the tears dry up… I wanna make you the happiest one, no fear… So baby, hold my hand now.”

Personally I think he could be talking to himself. And the music video definitely makes me think so as well, especially when the two animated versions of him come together toward the middle of the song!

13 was released on March 7, 2024. Jisung has said, “The song was made on January 13th.” It was also confirmed by him that he wrote the song about two contestants on a show that he was watching at the time and loved, called EXchange.

It is such a beautiful song! “The night I walked you home… My warm spring days… The day when thick mist filled the air… You were my universe,” are a few lyrics from the song.

Don’t Say, is a song that has not officially been released yet. Jisung performed it a few times but it has never been put on an album, music streaming platforms or anything like that.

It definitely is more of a rock or maybe even pop punk song, especially with his electric guitar solo! His singing and rapping is incredible here. You can absolutely tell this is a Han Jisung song lol. It has his special flair and style!

I absolutely love this song and think it is incredible. It deserves so much more recognition and love! I hope one day it will be officially released!

Below is an amazing live performance he did of Don’t Say at one of Stray Kids’ concerts ~

Jisung wrote the song Hold On for another member of Stray Kids named Seungmin to sing. This is a very sad and beautiful song.

It is about your dog that you love so much and that means the world to you passing away and how much you will miss them. But it also says that he hopes to meet his dog again one day.

When I first listened to this song and read the lyrics, it was hard for me. I honestly cried because two of my dogs had recently passed away at that time. This song meant a lot to me and still does but was hard to listen to because it made me think of them and how I hope to one day meet them again.

A few lyrics include, “You consoled me until the last moment… When you ran towards me with all your might wagging your tail… This place where the only thing that used to greet me was the front door light, felt like a happy place… Though I cannot see you at the moment… Someday, after quite some time has passed… When I stand before you, please come running to me once again.”

I would highly recommend listening to this song, it is beautiful. It is incredible how much music can affect you and have such an impact on you. I don’t think any other song has made me so emotional before, it is truly moving.

Want so Bad is such a fun and bright song! It was released on October 14, 2023. Jisung has said, “simply put it is a love song.” It is so fun because he wrote it for himself and another member of Stray Kids named Lee Know to sing together.

A few lyrics include, “I fell in love with you unexpectedly… I think you’re so sweet my baby… The moment I first saw you, it was meant to be, For me, Its you.”

This is just such a cute song and if you know Jisung and Lee Know you would understand why it is perfect for them lol!

The song SLUMP is such a powerful song. It was made by Jisung and it was very successful.

He has said, “It was the ending song for an animation called <The Tower of God> and that came out in Korean, Japanese, and English versions… It was remastered and included in a special album… So that’s probably the best performing song.”

This is a very special song because it is about struggling with mental health, specifically things such as depression. This song means a lot to me and I am extremely happy that it was so successful!

A few lyrics from the song include, “Everyone gonna be watching… gotta show ’em all of me… But I’ve been insecure lately… ‘Cause I don’t know what they want from me, ayy… Feeling so nervous, I wanna go forward… But everyone else overtaking me… Blocking my vision, my body is shaking… I don’t know if I can keep up.”

I really wanted to include this final song titled Truman here at the end because I am absolutely obsessed with it lol. This was off their latest mixtape called Mixtape: DominATE. This song really showcases his rap ability!

This is a two member unit song with Jisung and another member of Stray Kids named Felix. Jisung and Felix are credited as the song writers for this song.

I love how hype and powerful the song is! It talks about all the success they have had and that it is all thanks to their fans, STAY. They are saying they are on a completely different level and how hard they worked hard to get where they are today!

A few lyrics include, “Got trophies in the bag cause of STAY, we lock in… Ride a Benz, raise my hands, salute fans… We so advanced we the first and the last.”

Han Jisung is my favorite artist! He is someone that I can relate to a lot. His songs have such great or deep meanings and many of the lyrics resonate with me. I am proud to be his fan!

For me, it’s not only the fact that he also struggles with mental health like me but it’s the fact that he has kept going and speaks about things that need to be talked about. He has not let these things stop him and it really is inspirational. This really makes me love him as a person and artist even more!

The way he writes songs is something that I have never quite heard or seen before. He really stands out for me and is such an incredible artist!

I cannot wait to see what he releases next and what the future holds for him. I would highly recommend listening to all of Jisung’s songs! I truly feel there is no one else like him in the industry!
